If you have been reading lately, you know that I have tried a couple campaigns on Myspace.com. The first one brought in only a $10 profit, but it was a step in the right direction in my opinion. It was more of a test of the features and targeting that myspace has. One thing I must say is that their daily spend limit on campaigns are impeccable. If you have it set at $25, it WILL NOT go over one cent!
Campaign Details
For this campaign I wanted to try a dating website for married couples. I know it’s not something I like to promote either, but with over 50% of marriages in disrepair, I thought it might be a niche to make money in. So I chose an offer through Neverblue from the Ashley Madison Agency. They have a 100% affair guarantee and the payout is a whopping $37.50 per sale for males AND females. With a secondary payout of $2.25 just for a female sign up. With two ways to make some money, I thought it was a good offer to try.
Myspace Targeting and PPC
What I did for this ad was put it out there for everyone from 18-65+ from the west coast only. With a higher concentration of population and, of course, Hollywood, in the West Coast, I figured it was worth a try. I left everything else open, including interests, education, relationship and parental status.
I went with the max recommended cost per click at .75. This would ensure that I get max impressions and possible more conversions. Of course that only leaves me with 34 clicks. Not many, but I wanted to add to be shown as much as possible.
Overall Stats and Profit
The ad ran for 2 days with the majority of the clicks coming the second day. With a total impressions of over 90,000 for that day alone, you would think that you could get a couple conversions. Well, I didn’t.
- Over 90,000 impressions
- 34 clicks to be exact
- Total cost of $25.00
- Total revenue of $4.50 (for two female sign ups)
- Profit of -$20.50
I did take a couple of notes this time around and am hopefully will be making a tad bit more on my next campaign coming up after the Thanksgiving holidays.
Do you have any thoughts on ways to make an ad like this work better on Myspace?

lol, yeah Ashley Madison is a joke
Well, I wouldn’t say that, because I have had success through their direct affiliate program. But for ppc, well…
Saw that you had left a comment of ShoeMoney’s blog and thought I’d stop by your blog. I am glad I did, very informative and “Crips” design.
I am intrested in trying to improve my traffic and my revenue, since they go hand in hand. Thanks for doing the research on MySpace, it is a site I have been curious about.
Regards,
John
