Shoppingads.com

For a little while I was using AuctionAds on this blog. When it first came out it was the widget to have and being able to offer up products that fit your niche is always a nice thing. Since then, AuctionAds was sold and is now known as ShoppingAds.

ShoppingAds.com is similar to AuctionAds.com in that it serves up products based on simple keywords that you choose when you create the widget.  The major difference is that ShoppingAds uses a much larger product base then AuctionAds, which used eBay as the sole provider of products.

If you are looking for another way to monetize your blog, ShoppingAds.com can work.

Is ShoppingAds a CPC (Cost Per Click) or CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) ad program?
Both! ShoppingAds currently offers two payout systems, depending on your site’s location, traffic, and content. Our Standard Publishers earn revenue on a CPA basis; you are paid for any signups or purchases following clicks on your ads. Premium Publishers, a status reserved for high traffic, US and Canadian based websites, earn revenue for every valid click (CPC) from all US and Canadian traffic, and for every action (CPA) from all other traffic.

ShoppingAds.com can be used with other ad systems to increase your earnings. Basically, you will be Shoppingads.comdisplaying ads on your blog and if a reader clicks a merchant add, you will be paid CPC (cost-per-click) or CPA (cost-per-action).  Blogs with a lot of traffic will see clicks higher than blogs with little traffic.

For this blog (about 1,600 visitors a month), the system really didn’t perform all that well.  I do have other sites that I am testing it on, but right now, it looks like I am dealing with the same results that I saw here.

Since April of last year I only have about 55 clicks from almost 8,000 impressions and zero earnings.  I know that if I would keep up with it I will see a better turn out but I wanted to display more important information in that area of my blog anyways.  That doesn’t mean that you can get some success from the widget.

It’s free to sign up and you can also earn 5% through the affiliate program that is linked into the widget automatically.  Give it a try if you have some free space on your blog, it’s worth a month to see how it goes.
