It appears that our friend, Darren over at problogger.net, has opened his own problogging community at Problogger.com. At first when I signed up for beta, I wasn’t sure I was really going to join the forum, or want to pay a monthly fee, but when I got the forum invite and saw the intro price was $1.95 per month, I couldn’t refuse.

The forum is small and concise, for now. I like that there is a membership fee because it keeps the reality of the community in the back of your head. There isn’t going to be spammers and link junkies all over the place, I hope.

The community is under 2000 members right now and it’s still only $1.95 to join. Darren posted an announcement the other day that the intro pricing was going away when the forum reached 2000 members. Take this chance to get locked in at $1.95 and join.

www.problogger.com is the link

I see a bunch of familiar faces and as many new ones, so that is nice. I hoped to be able to connect with other like minded bloggers and I don’t see that as being a problem right now.

There is a screenshot of the forums that have been added so far. There is much discussion in just about all of them and it’s nice to see Darren get involved as well. I have been following problogger.net for sometime now and really have taken a lot from the blog. That is part of the reason I decided to join the forum. I figured the interaction would be more instant and I would be able to take my blogging to the next level.

Have you joined the community yet?

I have had a couple introductions so far for JWRMedia and AverageGal, welcoming them to Affiliate Obsession. Today I would like to introduce our newest commenter, Daniel at WPThemeKid.com.

First Impression

At first glance I see a wordpress theme designer giving away simple free themes to help boost his presence on the net. There are a few photoshop tutorials (helpful to me) and it seems the blog was just started last month. Since it’s so new, we can’t really give any indication on how well he is doing. Maybe he’ll stop back and let us know.

Photoshop

PS tutorials are always a help and the ones I read through on WPThemekid.com are very easy to follow. Step by step instructions for some basic things you probably didn’t know you could do in photoshop.

Themes

The themes seem to be created by Daniel and are quite fresh from what I normally see when people are giving away themes. I am sure, as a designer, we will see more complex themes to come.

Summary

Thanks Daniel for coming to comment and I hope that you will stick around to learn a few things about affiliate marketing. Pass this post along to friends and let them know they can be introduced as well. I urge all of my readers to visit WPThemekid.com and say hi to Daniel.

I really never got into Digg as a member, but I love taking a look once a month at the tech section and the images that get “dugg”. The website actually provides you with some of the coolest “anythings” from around the web. Allowing users to vote on submissions, propelling the story to the all elusive frontpage. Of course, with such a large user base, getting to the frontpage can earn you traffic like mad and even more votes.

OK, Digg isn’t a horrible site, but it is one of the most depressing when you compare it to what it once was. Digg’s top stories (as voted on by Digg users) used to be interesting and tech-oriented. But since Digg has grown so immensely popular, the top 10 Diggs usually consist of “lowest common denominator” stories: funny photos and videos, for the most part. It’s a site cursed by its own popularity.

It was a shock to see Digg on the list, but remember that it’s only one person’s opinion. While looking at the rest of the list, I notice that Digg really sticks out like soar thumb. But nonetheless, here is the rest of the list (source: MSN Tech)

It is also a revenue sharing forum which makes it worth your while to post quality posts so you can get compensated via Google Adsense.

Using forums to communicate with the rest of the blogsphere is nothing new, but it can be hard to find one that is active enough to really become a helpful resource. With many topics started daily and additional threads being added as needed, bloggeries.com is growing very quickly.

What forums do you visit on a daily or weekly basis? Are you a “lurker” or do you post to help the community?

If you are like me, you want traffic to your site. One way that I have been getting traffic to my site is through clickthru.com. Clickthru.com is sort of an incentivized traffic web exchange web site. The idea is that you view member web sites for at least 30 seconds. Each site you visit for that long, you get $.01 in “ClickThru Cash” or CT. In return, you can spend that cash for views on your web sites. I view = $.01 CT. What is “ClickThru Cash” you ask? Well, I would be glad to give you the information you are requesting.

What is ClickThru Cash?

Clickthru Cash is a proprietary currency which can be earned by using the ClickThru.com web site.

ClickThru Cash can be traded for goods and services on ClickThru.com.

ClickThru cash does not correspond directly with any specific value of real currency and cannot be exchanged for real currency.

ClickThru Cash has a 1:1 value ratio in exchange for ClickThru services. For example, $10 ClickThru Cash can be exchanged for $10 in services.

I have been using Clickthru.com for about 5 years now and I have always been happy with the type of traffic that comes from the site. It’s almost always targeted, you can set up the categories your site is shown, and if you set up offers or raffles, you can really clean house with the traffic. Converting a 30 second user into a sale isn’t really that hard. Put some time into the page you are advertising and let then see what they are searching for.

For example, I can set up an offer that allows users to get paid CT if they complete a task on my site. Maybe it’s as simple as signing up for email updates. I will pay .20 CT for each person that signs up. Now I have their email address and they have my .20 CT plus updates and the possibility of becoming a return customer at my site.

In an attempt to monetize every bit of my blog that I can, I came across WidgetBucks.com. This seems to be a pretty cool concept. The widget will scan your pages and place relevant ads in a box on your site. They pay-per-click and claim to have a $3-$6 CPM! You can get a check or be paid through paypal.com. I am going to try it on my hitechblogger.com blog first, because right now I am having decent luck with my affiliate marketing on this blog. Give it a try, it’s free to sign up and the widgets are clean and come in 4-5 different sizes. Plus, right now they have a nice referral system with BONUSES. Take a minute to look over the information below.

Have you heard of MillionDollarWiki.com? Top bloggers are talking about it daily and the pages are getting snapped up quickly. The idea is brought to you by the same person that created the Million Dollar Pixel Project (selling each pixel for $100 bucks). He has now created a wiki-type index. You pay $100 bucks for your OWN page, any keywords you want, and you own the page for the life of the site. You can edit it any way you like, place ads on the page, list your other websites on the page, sell ad space for top keywords or whatever you want.

You will be allowed to sell your page once all 10,000 pages have been sold out. Currently they are at 1012 pages sold. It will take awhile, but the more hype this project gets, the more pages will be selling. Any words (no adult content) that you can think of. Go and check to see if the page is available, buy it, place related content on the page and some ads, you will get your money back without a doubt. Now, if you design your page with SEO in mind and update the data (like a blog), then you will see more money than normal. Take a look at some of the featured pages listed on the homepage, www.milliondollarwiki.com. That will give you some ideas. I bought Link_Directory for $100 and I am not sure what I am going to do with it, but most likely have a encyclopedia type page with ad space for sale. We’ll see how it goes and I might even buy others. The top keywords are still being snatched up, but there are still some left.

They even get you a list of the most popular pages (if you can get listed here, plan on more income), which is shown here. So, hurry and grab your piece of history and use it to make you some money. It can be done and remember this is residual income that you could be getting for life. The more popular your page is, and MillionDollarWiki as a whole, the more you make.
