A couple of months ago I posted about how easy it was to set up an ad on Myspace. Since then, I have also attempted to two campaigns and posted about them here and here. The first was an attempt at promoting a dating site that wasn’t really done all that well. The second was for a niche site that I created and seemed to go much better once I had the targeting feature all figured out.

So now, I attempted my 3rd go around with Myspace Advertising and again, I chose the niche site as the landing page. This site is making me about $200 a month now, I thought I would see if I could increase that with Myspace.

Ad Information

Since I am promoting Iron Man Collectibles, I knew I had to target an audience that was into things like the movie, action figures and comic, for sure. These types of people love to shop, collect and spend big $$$ on ebay. Below I listed who I targeted for this campaign.

Demographics

Males only

18-30

Education – all

Relationship – all

Perental Status – no preference

Geographics

National – US

Interests

Comics, Batman, X-men, Iron Man

I thought about it for only 10 minutes or so before I started the campaign and Myspace only gives you a few options when it comes to targeting interests. I really like Facebook better for this, but I felt that promoting this site would be better on Myspace.

My PPC was set at .50 (about half way between recommended), I set my budget to $25 per day for a total campaign budget of $75. That means I will spend $25 per day, but never more than $75 total. In this case, it only took 3 days to reach my maximum.

As you can see, my CTR was .20% which I guess isn’t all that bad. I did like to see the 74,432 ad views though. I targeted a larger group than I thought and maybe could have narrowed that down a bit, on the other hand, I did go through all my clicks in under 3 days! That is nice to see as well. If my clicks would have taken 2 weeks, I would have had to look at who I was targeting and maybe clean that up a bit. It looks like I targeted the right group fo clickers, that’s a plus!

Where Did All The Clickers Go?

Since we know that I am promoting a niche site hooked up through ebay, I also checked the stats available from the EPN. Right now, it is showing about 49 clicks through to ebay on these 3 days. I checked my EPN stats and I can see the clicks through to ebay. Since the cookies are good for 7 days, I will have to update you on the actual amount of $$$ the clicks made.

Stay tuned!

I just wanted to pass along a resource that I have been using for about 6 months. The blog was always loaded with useable resources for blogging and how to make money online. Then it was sold for some $xx,xxx to Max Davis and he has only been doing wonders with it.

If you aren’t familiar with the blog at BloggingExperiment.com, you should take a look at it. The blog is clean and neat (the template is for sale) and every week I read about something that helps me in my blogging adventure. Max Davis seems like a down to earth guy (judging from posts) that really has it together when it comes to internet businesses.

If you are serious about how to make money online or even just about blogging or business, this blog should be one that you subscribe to. I have about 5 blogs that I read every day, including his, and I think that if you want to learn, you have to read. Take it all in and apply it to your blog, website or business, you won’t be disappointed!

Go ahead, have fun!!

If you are looking for a sure fire way to increase traffic and increase visitors, you have come to the right place. I did an experiment one month ago to see if I could gain more traffic, visitors and subscribers just by posting one time per day for one month.

It was dubbed the 30 day challenge and I read about it at Bloggeries Forum. I was immediately interested in the challenge, mostly because I knew I could handle it. So it began, each day I tried to think of 2 topics, one to write about today and the other to write about for a future date. This way I knew that I would have plenty of posts that I could spread out over the month.

For the month of April my post count is unusually low. I had some issues with my hosting and the upgrade to wordpress 2.5 was a mess at first. But I am still going to use this months posts for something to reference against the 30-some posts for February.

At this point I am only getting about 20-30 visitors per day, according to Google Analytics. If February, when I was posting a lot more, I was getting about 45-60 visitors per day. My posts were more consistent then and I think that is easily the reason my visitors went up. If you keep the content coming, the traffic will just start to roll in.

Now, in April, it wasn’t as pretty. Like I said, I was only getting about 20-30 visits per day. Without posting for days at a time, my blog got “old” that fast and people didn’t have any reason to come read it. This is just a small experiment that really wasn’t planned at all. It just happened because I had issues with the blog and wasn’t posting as much. As soon as I noticed the traffic go down, I knew the reason right away.

Keep in mind that if you don’t have anything to post, use the post time stamp to set your posts to appear in the future. When I have a good day, I will post 2-5 posts and only have one hit that day. The rest will appear sometime later in the week. That way you always have something and you can just fill in as you go.

Keep on posting!

If you are here to read posts about how to make money, then you’ve come to the right place. Just kidding, I am not the best blog in town for that topic, but I can help you along if you are looking for any advice to get you closer to your goal.

I market this blog in many ways and they are all free. First off, I have it listed in any free directory that I can find. It’s in all my signatures, search Google for “sukosaki.info” or “sukosaki” to find them, and I get traffic to this blog that way. I also comment on other blogs that I find interesting. The search engines might not “see” the link, but human eyes always see the link. I created a myspace.com account just for this blog. Joining groups about blogging and gaining friends will help you network your blog as well.

That is just a quick overview of how I market this blog for free. There are a lot of ways you can pay to market your blog, but why do that when there are just as many free ways?

Have you ever looked at trends.google.com? The service that google.com provides can be quite useful if you are looking to get traffic from google.com to your blog.

First
Go to http://trends.google.com and see what the top 20 searches were for today. The first thing you will see is a regular google.com search-lookin’ page and a list below it. Those things listed are the current top searches for the day. Click on the first one.

Second
The next page will show you a graph (showing the amount of searches for that term over the last month or so) and a list of places you can read about the keyword. Take a long look at the list at the left of your screen. Those are the keywords and if you click on one, it will graph it for you. You will also see related articles listed under the graph.

Third
Find a term that strikes any sort of interest in you, proceed to your blog and write about this term. You can name the term 2-3 times throughout your blog post. If the keyword is something like “paris jailt ime” you will be able to use the term for awhile. Be sure to pick terms related to your content otherwise you will be getting traffic, but it won’t be of any use to you.

Fourth
Publish your post and by the time google.com crawls your blog, the keyword should still be in the Top 20 or so. Either way, you should start to see an increase in your google.com traffic. Go ahead and try it. I have done it on this blog and a couple of others. I have seen results, but of course, it depends on the keyword. Good Luck!
